North Andover, MA – Kevair Kennedy played all 40 minutes and scored 20 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the Merrimack men’s basketball team (9–7, 5–0 MAAC) to a 73–66 victory over the Manhattan Jaspers Sunday afternoon at Lawler Arena.
Ernest Shelton and Tye Dorset each sank multiple three-pointers and finished in double-digits.
Off the bench, KC Ugwuakazi played 23 minutes and scored 6 points in addition to securing 7 rebounds and blocking 2 shots.
While the Warriors didn’t win the turnover battle like they usually do and fell behind in the rebound department — forfeiting 12 more FGA to Manhattan — MC found their advantage through the three-point shot — shooting 8–26 to the Jaspers’ 3–12 mark.
The Warriors are back in action Friday evening at MVP Arena in Albany, NY where they’ll take on the Siena Saints (9–5, 2–1 MAAC), who are riding a 3-game losing streak prior to their Sunday afternoon matchup with Rider, but will not be an easy contest, as they are highly touted in the conference.
